Harmony, FL (March 25, 2007)…Orlando’s Rob Johnson carded a two-under par 70 in Sunday’s final round of the Michelob Ultra Classic over the 7428 yard, par 72 Harmony Golf Preserve to win his first ever Hooters Tour title.
 
“It is very welcome to take home a check like this since my wife and I are expecting our first child in August,” said the thirty-four year old Johnson.
 
Johnson, a graduate of Purdue University, carded rounds of 72-68-69-70 for a four day total of nine-under par 279 and a one stroke victory over Scott Piercy (Las Vegas, NV.) Piercy closed with an even par 72 Sunday and finished all alone in second place at eight-under par 280.
 
Third round leader Matthew Borchert (Orlando) headed up a group of three golfers that finished tied for third at seven-under par 281.
 
Johnson collects a Hooters Tour best $33,566 for his first win, while Piercy takes home $16,751 for his runner-up finish.
 
The NGA Hooters Tour heads north on I-4 to Lake Mary, Florida for the Michelob Ultra Championship next week at Magnolia Plantation golf club.
