 Partnership Between Two Tours Announced

North Myrtle Beach, SC…The National Golf Association’s Hooters Professional Golf Tour, presented by Hooters of America and Naturally Fresh Foods and the North Carolina based Tarheel Tour announce an agreement between the two tours allowing each tour’s players to share membership privileges in 2007.

“Over the last 4 years the Tarheel Tour has proven to be a great place to play for hundreds of professionals,” said Robin L. Waters , NGA/Hooters Tour President. “With this agreement our combined members will have access to nearly 40 tournaments in 2007 as well as nearly $6 million in total prize money.”

The Tarheel Tour will operate under the banner of ‘The NGA/Hooters Tarheel Tour’.

“We’re excited to be involved with an organization with the history and integrity of The Hooters Tour,” said David Siegel, Co-owner of the Tarheel Tour. “There’s a reason the Hooters Tour has put more players on the PGA and Nationwide Tours than anyone else. Our players should definitely benefit from this opportunity.”

“The players are the real winners here,” said Tarheel Tour Co-Owner Paul Wortham. “Playing under the umbrella of the Hooters Tour will not only help our players move on to the next level but will also provide a financially rewarding place to play while they’re trying to get there.”

Under the terms of the agreement Hooters Tour players may enter either Tour’s events during non-conflicting tournament weeks on a space available basis and vice versa. In addition, the top 10 players on the NGA/Hooters Tarheel Tour money list at the end of the 2007 season will earn full exempt status on The Hooters Tour in 2008.

The NGA/Hooters Tour will hold 18 events in 2007 with a combined purse of $3.6 million ($200,000 per event) guaranteed regardless of field size.

The NGA/Hooters Tour is the 3rd largest men’s 72-hole professional golf tour in the country behind the PGA and Nationwide Tours, and boasts alumni like 2003 PGA Champion Shaun Micheel, 2003 British Open winner Ben Curtis, 2003 US Open winner Jim Furyk, two time U.S. Open winner Lee Janzen, British Open and PGA Champion John Daly, as well as British Open winner Tom Lehman, PGA Champion David Toms, 2003 Tour Championship Winner Chad Campbell, 2004 BellSouth Classic winner Zach Johnson , 2004 & 2005 Reno Tahoe Open winner Vaughn Taylor and TPC winner Craig Perks to name just a few. All told, the NGA/Hooters Tour’s alumni have an incredible 9 “Majors” to their credit. The NGA/Hooters Tour has helped more than 100 professionals acquire their PGA, Senior PGA, and Nationwide Tour cards. In fact, 42% of the players that earned their 2006 PGA Tour card, and 43% of the players that earned full exempt status on the Nationwide Tour started their careers on the NGA/Hooters Tour.
