North Myrtle Beach, SC (August 13, 2010)… Roberto Diaz (Myrtle Beach, SC) carded a five-under par 67 in the final round of the Carolina Series event at Tidewater Golf club to capture his first professional win.
Diaz, who played his college golf at USC Aiken, fired rounds of 73-67-67 for a three day total of nine under par and a two stroke victory over John Scott Rattan (Montgomery Village, MD) and Jeremy Pope (Pawleys Island, SC).
Diaz contributed putting to the victory adding “I was putting well all week and the greens were rolling great the past two days”
Diaz took home $3,850 for his victory; while Pope and Rattan will receive $1,590 for their runner-up finishes.
The top 10 members at season’s end will earn full exempt status for the 2011 Hooters Pro Series. Top three finishers each week get into the following weeks Pro Series event.
The Carolina Summer Series travels to the Golf Club of South Carolina in Columbia, SC August 18-20 for the 14th event of the 2010 season.
