News >> Past NGA Hooters Tour Players Take Four of Five Power Rankings on Nationwide Tour

Longs, SC—Fresh off his win last week, D.J. Brigman, who played on the NGA Hooters Tour in 2000, 2001 and 2002, is listed second in the Nationwide Tour’s Power Rankings for the Cox Classic this weekend.

Brigman, 34, fired a 7-under 64 in the final round to win the Nationwide Children’s Hospital Invitational on the Scarlet Course at the Ohio State University by one stroke.

Tag Ridings, who played two seasons on the NGA Hooters Tour, is ranked third coming into the event. Ridings finished ninth last week, giving him six top-10 finishes this year.  T9 finish was his sixth top 10 of the season.  Former NGA player William McGirt is fourth in the rankings after picking up his fourth top-10 of the season last week.

Tommy Gainey, a former winner on the NGA Hooters Tour, holds down the final spot in the Power Rankings. Gainey has two wins this season on the Nationwide Tour. If he wins another, Gainey will receive a battlefield promotion to the PGA Tour.

The Nationwide event in Omaha will also feature current members Roberto Castro, Ted Potter Jr, Robert Streb, James Vargas and Manuel Villegas.

Coming into The Greenbrier Classic, former NGA Hooters Tour player Brendon de Jonge holds down fourth in the Power Rankings. de Jonge, who played in 2005 and 2006 on the NGA Hooters Tour, is coming off a 13th-place finish in the RBC Canadian Open.

Jim Furyk, a 1992 NGA Hooters Tour member, is ranked eighth coming into the event, but he still holds down the No. 5 World Ranking and has two wins this season already.

Former NGA players and PGA Major Winners David Toms, John Daly and Lee Janzen are also in the field this week. In total, over 120 past NGA Hooters Tour players will be split between the Nationwide and PGA Tours this weekend.
