Ft. Worth, TX (May 30, 2010)…Former NGA Hooters Tour member Zach Johnson captured his seventh PGA TOUR title Sunday at the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial Country Club in record fashion setting the new tournament scoring record at twenty-one under par 259.(Picture left courtesy of getty images)

Johnson, a four-time winner on the NGA/Hooters Tour, started the final round one shot off the lead shared by Brian Davis and Bryce Molder, a situation Johnson is quite familiar with given four of his seven Tour wins have been in come-from-behind fashion.

Johnson closed the tournament with a six-under par 64 after starting the week with rounds of 65-66-64 for his tournament record 21 under par total and a three shot win over Brian Davis.

“I was kind of due to make some putts as well as I was hitting it and the opportunities I gave myself,” Johnson acknowledged. “I just remained patient. … Going in that the back nine, my mind frame was, I don’t care if I win this golf tournament, or I don’t care if I lose it. I’m content with whatever happens.”

Johnson earned $1,116,000 first win of the 2010 season moving him into fourteenth place on the FED EX Cup standings.

While Johnson took the title, he wasn’t the only Hooters Tour alum to fair well for the week. Joining him were Boo Weekley (9th), Kris Blanks (T-13), Stewart Cink (T-22), Blake Adams (T-27), Lee Jansen (T-44), Derek Lamely (T-44), Ben Curtis (T-50), James Nitties (T-59), Jerry Kelly (T-59) and John Daly (66th).
