Lancaster, SC (May 7, 2010)…Drew Perry (Matthews, NC) earned his first professional victory defeating Jonathan Hodge (Strawberry Plains, TN) by 3 strokes to win the fourth Carolina Summer Series event of 2010 hosted by Edgewater Golf Club. Perry, a former Wofford Terrier golfer, carded rounds of 66-70-70 en route to a ten under par 206 total. Perry’s opening round 66 was what got him going, “I played great the first round and then just grinded it out the next two days.” Perry and Hodge were the only two golfers to play all three rounds under par.
Cameron Yancey (Blackstone, VA) finished 3rd after finishing at six under par 210. Yancey earned $1525 for his 3rd place finish.
Perry takes home $3,500 for his victory, while Hodge receives $1,750 for his runner-up finish.
The top 10 members at season’s end will earn full exempt status for the 2011 Hooters Pro Series.
The Carolina Summer Series travels to Eagle Chase Golf Club in Marshville, NC, May 12-14 for the fifth event of the 2010 season.
