China Grove, NC (April 30, 2010)…John McAllister (Spartanburg, SC) fired a four-under 67 Friday in final round of the Carolina Summer Series event at Warrior Golf Club to earn his first NGA Hooters Tour win.McAllister, a former Coastal Carolina golfer, carded rounds of 65-71-67 for a ten-under par 203 total and a one stroke victory over Paul Brown (Hartsville, SC). Brown the overnight leader by four strokes managed only a one-over par 72 Friday.
McAllister said that the key to his success this week was putting, adding “I putted lights out this week.”
Nick MacDonald (Mt. Pleasant, SC) finished 3rd after finishing at eight under par 205. MacDonald earned $1600 for his 3rd place finish.
McAllister takes home $3,900 for his victory, while Brown receives $1,850 for his runner-up finish.
The top 10 members at season’s end will earn full exempt status for the 2011 Hooters Pro Series.
The Carolina Summer Series travels to Edgewater Golf Club in Lancaster, SC May 5-7, 2010 for the fourth event of the 2010 season.
