Tschudin Weathers The Field
Orion Group Golf Classic
Blackthorn Golf Club
May 8-11, 2008
South Bend, IN (May 11, 2008)…Andrew Tschudin (Melbourne, Australia), fired a one over par 73, over the cold, rain soaked, wind swept, 7136 yard, par 72 Blackthorn Golf Club, to win the Orion Group Golf Classic benefitting the Life Treatment Centers, by one stroke over Shawn Stefani (Baytown, TX). Tschudin, who finished at 8 under par, 280 total, started the day tied for the lead with Stefani, and Matt Harmon (Grand Rapids, MI), said “With the weather conditions the way they were out there today, you could very easily lose focus. I felt like I did a very good job of staying focused on my game, and not letting myself get caught up in the weather. I felt like I have been playing pretty solid the last few weeks, and this week it all seemed to just come together.”
Shawn Stefani (Baytown, TX) finished alone in second place after carding a two over par 74, on a day in which the low round for the 67 player field was even par 72. Stefani finished at 7 under par, for a 72 hole total of 281.
Tschudin will earn $33,566 for his victory, while Stefani will take home $16,671 for his runner-up finish.
Sean McTernan (Sligo, Ireland) finished alone third, after a closing round 73, while Matt Harmon (Grand Rapids, MI), who started the day tied for first, dropped to fourth place after a final round 76.
The Hooters Tour heads to Georgetown, Kentucky next week and the Cherry Blossom Golf and Country club for the ADI Classic.
